Getting Started:
1. Connect the DCN box to your TV:
Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the DCN box and the other end into an HDMI port on your TV.
Connect the power cord to the DCN box and plug it into a surge protector (recommended) and a power outlet.
Turn on your TV.
Use your TV remote to change the input source to the one you connected the HDMI cable to. You should see the DCN home screen appear.
2. Connect to the internet:
Option 1: Wired Connection (Ethernet) - Connect an Ethernet cable from your internet modem or router to the Ethernet port on the back of the DCN box. Check for the clock at the top right corner of the Home Screen, when it changes to the correct time that means you are connected and can begin using the apps.
Option 2: Wireless Connection (Wi-Fi) - On the DCN home screen, navigate to "Settings" using the remote's directional buttons and press "OK". Select "Networks" and then "Wireless Networks". Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password (if required). The status of your network should then read "Connected". The time and date will also update to the correct format.
3. Login to Google Play (not required, but recommended):
Your DCN box allows you to access a variety of apps. Being logged into the Google Play store will ensure these apps get updated automatically.
Google Play has tons of apps at your disposal. You can browse the web, check email, use social media like Facebook, stream on Netflix, listen to music, Play games, and more.
4. Explore and enjoy:
The home screen features a row of apps at the top, just waiting to be explored. Tap any app to discover what it can do. When you first open an app, you might be asked to allow permissions. Granting these permissions ensures the app functions properly.
The Essentials:
Adding Apps to the Home Screen: Locate the "+" icon on the far right side of your Home Screen. A list of available apps will appear on the right-hand panel. Select the desired app, and it will be added to your Home Screen.
Rearranging Apps on the Home Screen: To rearrange the order of your apps on the DCN box Home Screen, follow these steps:
Select the App: Using the DCN remote, press and hold the "Select" button for two seconds on the app you want to move.
Move the App: The screen will focus on the selected app. Use the directional buttons (up/down/left/right) on the remote to move the app to your desired location.
Confirm the Position: Once the app is in the desired spot, press the "OK" button on the remote to confirm the new placement.
Removing Unwanted Apps:
Head to Settings: From your DCN box's home screen, navigate to the "Settings" section.
Find Your Apps: Once in Settings, locate the option for "Apps" or "Applications."
Choose the App to Remove: Browse the list of installed apps and find the one you want to uninstall.
Say Goodbye! Select the unwanted app, then choose "Uninstall" to remove it from your DCN box.
Troubleshooting Buffering Issues:
1. Restart your Network:
Unplug your internet router/modem for 5 minutes.
While the modem is rebooting (usually takes 5-10 minutes), keep the TV box unplugged as well.
Plug the modem back in and let it fully reboot before reconnecting the TV box. This simple step often resolves buffering issues.
2. Check your internet speed:
If the issue persists, run a speed test on the TV box and look for the "FAST" app to launch it.
Alternatively, download the free "FAST" app from the Google Play Store if necessary.
A minimum internet speed of 100 mbps is recommended, with higher speeds being better. Slow internet speeds are a common cause of buffering. If the speed reads higher than 100mbps text support at 702-660-4515.
